The New Crafting System is Here: Extracting

Extracting

Aside from gathering, there is another essential part when crafting items. Many crafters will need to extract the magical properties from everyday items like weapons, armor, Option Stones and Skill Enhancement Stones. To do this, you will need to use the Extraction Pulverizer located in the Crafting Studio.

Not everything can be broken down and extracted of its magical properties. Below is a list of items that can be extracted and which items they came from.

Crystals – Can be extracted from weapons and armor. Only Unique and Ancients can be extracted.

Extraction Option Stones – Can be extracted from weapons and Armor. Only Unique and Ancients can be extracted.

Enhancement Crystal – Can be extracted from Skill Enhancement Stones.

Option Stone Crystal – Can be extracted from Option Stones and Enhancement Stones.

Step 1:

When you are ready to begin extracting, find an Extraction Pulverizer in the Crafting Studio and right click on it.

Once the window appears, click on The “Extracting Item” button to continue.

Step 2:

When the Item Extraction Window appears, you will see some cogs. Place an item in the slot and hit the “Extract” button when you are ready.

**NOTE** Keep in mind that once an item is extracted, you will not be able to get it back. Extracting an item is permanent, so make sure you are willing to part with the item.

Extracting – The Final Product

The wheels will spin, and the time bar will increase. When it finishes, an item will be placed in the boxes below. Sometimes, you will get multiple items and they will all appear in those same boxes.

And there you have it! Quite simple once you get the hang of it.

The New Crafting System is Here: Upgrading

Upgrading

With the addition of the crafting system, there are many new features that have been brought to the game. Weapons can now be upgraded by both accessory producers and magic tool producers by using Enhancing Stones or Reinforcement Stones on your items.

Creating these items are not an easy task. Rare materials must be gathered and magical reagents must be extracted from items around the world. So if you aren’t willing to create them yourselves, make sure to befriend a producer.

Reinforcing an Item

Reinforcement Stones – Created by accessory crafters, these magical stones will increase the stats of your weapon. Weapons can be increased up to 30 times. Be careful though, failing an upgrade will destroy the weapon.

Step 1:

Choose an item you would like to reinforce.
I have taken an item created by a Blacksmith.

Step 2:

Find an reinforcement stone from one of your local accessory crafters. As you can see, this reinforcement stone increases the level of the weapon by 1. This level is “NOT” the required level that changes.

Step 3:

Double click on the reinforcement stone in your inventory and the enhancement window should appear.

Place the equipment item you want reinforce.

Abradant stones work like preservation stones. It will save your item upon reinforcement failure.

Step 4:

Place weapon in the “Equipment” Slot and an Abradant Stone in the Abradant slot if you have one.

When you have done this, click on the “Start
Enhancement” button. Good luck!

Reinforcing an Item – The Final Product

As you can see, there are a few changes to the weapon. First off, it now has a +1 in the name which means the Reinforcement Level has been increased by 1. You can increase the level up to 30. Another change is that all the stats have been increased by 5. As you increase the item level, the stats will continue to increase. But be careful, if you fail the reinforcement, the weapon and the stone will be destroyed.

Socketing an Item

Spirit Stones– Magic Tool Crafters can create power Spirit Stones that can be placed into weapons and armor created by weaponsmiths and armorsmiths. These stones will increase your stats for a certain period of time. The increase in stats stack with each other and stack with the Enhancing Stones mentioned above.

Step 1:

Find a weapon or piece of armor created by a player. As of now, only crafted items can have sockets.

As you can see, this particular weapon has 4 available slots to socket. The number of sockets will depend on the quality of the item.

Step 2:

Next, you will need some Spirit Stones from your local Magic Tool Crafter. The Spirit Stone to the right will increase your Strength by 15 when it is successfully socketed into a weapon.

Step 3 :

When you are ready to socket your item, right click on it. Click the “Equip Spirit Stone” button once you are ready to socket Description :Shows the current options on the item. As you socket or reinforce the item, the stats will increase. Sockets :Show the available/used sockets that are currently on the item. As you socket Spirit Stones into an item, it will show the information of that stone.

Step4 :

The Socket Enhancement Window will appear on your screen. Place up to 4 spirit stones into the boxes. A box will prompt you to confirm and the die will roll.

**NOTE** If you fail on placing a socket in the item, you will lose the Spirit Stone and the socket will disappear from the item.

Socketing an Item – The Final Product

When you successfully socket the Spirit Stone, hover over the weapon to check out the stats. You will see purple colored text showing the increase of stats. All Spirit Stone upgrades will show in the purple text.

The New Crafting System is Here: Producing

Producing

So You Want to Be a Producer?

First off, we’ll need to find the trainers that will assist you on your journey. Find the “Fishing Hole Gatekeeper” in any of the starting towns. You’ll notice that he has been upgraded to be a “Studio Gatekeeper” as well!

Click on him/her then select:

“I want to enter the Crafting Studio.”

Once inside, you will find yourself right outside the studio itself. Walk inside and locate the NPC “Kacie”. Players can choose 1 of the 4 crafting professions available. There is also an option to reset your current crafting job which will allow you to start a new crafting profession of your choice. Keep in mind that if you reset your profession, you will lose all the blueprints and skill points associated with that profession. So reset only if you are “sure” you want to start a new one.

The 4 professions to choose from are:

  • Weaponsmith : Create devastating weapons for all classes. Throughout their training, weaponsmiths will learn how to add sockets to weapons they create. These sockets can be filled with Reinforcement Stones created by the Accessory Crafters.
  • Armorsmith : Protect you and your allies by making powerful armor. Like weaponsmiths, armorsmiths can socket items they can make.
  • Accessory Producer : Impress the ladies and your foes with the shine of your jewelry. Skilled Accessory Crafters will be able to create Enhance Stones which will increase the level and stats of an item.
  • Magic Tool Producer : The Magic Tool Crafters create powerful Reinforcement Stones that can be placed into sockets for a certain amount of time.

Players can access the Character Information Screen by pressing “C” on their keyboard. There have been some slight changes to go with the crafting update. Players will be able to equip special items for producing/gathering as well as check their producing/gathering skills and blueprints.

Production/Gathering : Toggles between the Production and Gathering tabs to view gear and skills.

Inventory : Just like equipping armor and weapons. Equip gear to assist you in crafting and
gathering.

Crafting Information : View your job, progression and level for crafting or gathering.

Blueprints
To craft anything at all, you will need blueprints. Blueprints can be purchased from the Supplies Shop Owner in the Crafting Studio. However, many of the rare blueprints can only be dropped by monsters.

Helmets
Increase the success rate during the crafting session.

Chest and Boots
Reduce the chance of interruptions during the crafting process.

Gloves
Decreases the fail rate while crafting.

Tools
Increases your character’s crafting point total.

Reagents
During the crafting process, you may experience difficulties. Using these items will help you get back on track.

Assorted Materials
Mats collected from the gathering professions, extracted from weapons and armor

Crafting Stations
4 different crafting stations depending on your profession.

Extraction Pulverizer
Extract special materials from weapons, armor and option stones to use while crafting.

The Process

It’s not time to begin producing. Find the nearest producing station and right click on it. Opening the crafting station will bring you to your blueprint list.

Each profession will have a number of items they can create. The icons at the top are the different categories.

This will categorize the weapons into different grades. As your Crafting Skill Level increases, you will be able to create better graded weapons.

You will then get to choose the specific item you would like to create. A list should look like this.

Once you have selected the blueprint, click on the confirm button to continue.

Once you have confirmed the item, it will bring you to the blueprint’s window. It will let you know what materials you need and what the outcome will look like if everything goes according to plan.

Product
The name of the item. Hover over the icon with your mouse to reveal the final product of the item.

Materials
A list of materials needed to continue producing the item. Hover over the icon for the exact names.

In Possession
The number of that material in your current inventory. If the number is green you have a sufficient amount. If the number is red, you do not have enough of the required item.

Required
This list will let you know how much of the specific material you need. If you do not have enough, the “In Possession” number will be in red.

Perfect Craft Points
The amount of craft points needed to create a perfect item.
Max Sockets
The total number of sockets with a perfect item.
Craft Time
The amount of time it takes to create the item.
Reuse Time
The amount of time you will have to wait to use this specific blueprint again.
Reagents Needed
The number of reagents used per anomaly.
Number of Attempts
Total number of attempts possible based on what you have in your inventory.

Start Crafting
When you are ready to begin, press this button.

Once the final crafting begins, the green bar will start to progress. As the green bar progresses, it should pass certain “checkpoints”. These checkpoints indicate the item’s resulting quality.

Your character has 45 seconds to fill up the bar. Once the 45 seconds are over, the quality of the item will be dependent on how far the green bar has progressed.

Each item has a set number of unexpected outcomes. This is dependent on the number of CP your character has and the total number of CP the item requires.

When an unexpected anomoly happens, a box will appear with an icon in the middle. You have 3 seconds to click on one of the reagents. Make sure you are fully stocked and don’t go afk during the process.

The Finished Product

Once the crafting is complete, you can hover over the icon with your mouse to check the item’s “Item Grade”, “Quality” and the number of “sockets” crafted into the item.

Now you can find other crafters to fill those sockets with stones and further enhance your item.

Have fun and good luck!!

The New Crafting System is Here: Gathering

Gathering

Hi there! Rumor has it that you want to start one of the new crafting classes! A good crafter will always have an abundance of great materials to make items with. The following guide will give you a brief walkthrough on how to gather resources for you and your friends.

Gathering

First and foremost, we are going to need to find the trainers. They can all be found in the Crafting Studio right next to the fishing hole. You can enter this zone by speaking to any of the Fishing Hole Gatekeepers in one of the starting towns.

Here are the names of all the Gatekeepers and their associated towns:

  • Einhoren : Jude
  • Etton : Bruce
  • Montt : Hanz
  • Kai’non : Frederick
  • Par’Talucca : Henry
  • Rev’Decca : Matthew
  • Vena : Peter

Once inside, go to the crafting studio and look for the NPC by the name of “Colek”.

Colek will offer three different gathering professions. Each of the gathering professions have somewhat of a matching crafting profession. However, you may be contacted by different types of crafters for your materials. Below are the suggested gathering professions for each crafting profession.

  • Weaponsmith : Minerals
  • Armorsmith : Minerals
  • Accessory Producer : Gems
  • Magic Tool Producer : Plants

After you have selected a gathering profession, Colek will ask you to do a small quest. The quest will consist of gathering minerals, gems or plants depending on the profession you chose. All of the quest items can be found just outside of the starting towns. They will look like one of the pictures below. You can interact with these by left clicking on them and waiting for the timer bar to finish. Once gathered, they will appear in your inventory. After you have finished gathering the materials, head back to Colek to receive your crafting tool. The tool “MUST” be equipped to gather materials.

Character Information Window

Players can access the Character Information Screen by pressing “C” on their keyboard. There have been some slight changes to go with the crafting update. Players will be able to equip special items for crafting/gathering as well as check their crafting/gathering skills and blueprints.

Production/Gathering -Toggles between the Production and Gathering tabs to view gear and skills.

Inventory -Just like equipping armor and weapons, equip gear to assist you in producing and
gathering.(a tool is required to gather materials).

Gathering Information -View your job, progression and level for producing or gathering.

Helmets
Increases the area where resources will show on radar.

Chests
Increases the amount of resources obtained when gathering.

Boots
Increases the chance of getting rare or special resources.

Gloves
Reduces the collection time when gathering resources.

Tools
A higher chance to increase skill level.

Assorted Materials
Gets your resources ready for production.

Resource Processing – Gets your resources ready for production.

Extraction Pulverizer
Extract special materials from weapons, armor and option stones to use while producing.

Pre-Gathering Info

  • There are 5 types of basic materials you can produce for each gathering profession.
  • As you level up, you will be able to produce higher grades of the different materials. Grade E being the lowest and Grade A being the highest. Each time you gather a resource, you have a chance to level up your gathering skill. Below you will see the level ranges for each grade:
  • - Grade E: 1~50
    - Grade D: 51~125
    - Grade C: 126~225
    - Grade B: 226~350
    - Grade A: 351~400

  • Players will also have a chance to produce a Rare or Special type of that material. For Example:
      - Basic: Artrium
      - Rare: Astantine
      - Special: Strontium
    • - A Gathering Skill Trained
    • - Gather Quest Completed
    • - Gathering Tool Equipped
    • - Lots of Inventory Space
    • - (Optional) Gathering Clothes Equipped
    • - (Optional) Crafting Profession Selected
  • CHECKLIST

All resources have Grades A~E. Please refer to Pre-Gathering Information page

    Processing Resources

Now you should have a bundle of resources in your bag. What now? Well now you have to get them processed and ready to use for producing. Head to your nearest processor in the crafting studio.

    Step 1:

Select which item you want processed. In this case, I will be processing Grade E Artrium.

    Step 2:

Here you will see the quantity needed to process the item. It says I need (10) Artrium Minerals and (1) Melting stone to create a Grade E Mineral Ingot. Melting Stones and other supplies can be found at the crafting supplier in the crafting studio. Press the “Start Processing” button to create the item.

    Step 3:

A progression bar will appear at the bottom of your screen. It will take 10 seconds to complete the process. If all goes well, you will create a new item will be placed into your inventory. You can repeat this action as many times as you have the materials to do so. Now your resources should be ready to use for producing.

Processing Resources – Rare and Special

You’ll notice that the Rare and Special resources will have different options when processing. While you can’t process them into things like Ingots, you can process the Rare resources into Special resources by following the same steps in the previous page.

Special resources cannot be processed into a Rare resource.

Gunz Advanced Korean Style Techniques

Note: All the moves in this guide will use the SWORD as the melee weapon.

Before starting K-Style, you should familiarize yourself with these basic K-Style moves:

Wall-Canceling
To do a Wall-Cancel, Stand perpendicular to a wall. Have melee active. Run at the wall, jump, jump off the wall, slash, dash at the wall, jump off the wall, slash, dash at the wall, jump off the wall, repeat. This is a basic move to keeping yourself in the air.

Multiple-Wall Run
This is a harder move, due to the small angle-of-approach used for a wall-run. I’ve taken a picture of the proper angle of approach for a wall-run.

As you can see, you can’t approach from a large span. So when doing this move, keep this angle in mind.

To do a Multiple Wall-Run, start a Wall run on a wall. When you near the end of the wall/run, jump off, slash, turn 180 degrees, dash at wall, and double-tap space bar. This is a tough move to get down. You can turn this into a continuous wall-run by not doing a 180 degree turn. I’ve taken replays of both to give you a better understanding of what to do.

Light Step
This will train your fingers for the half-step and flash-step. It’s a pretty useless move, all it does it let you dash twice in midair.

To Light-Step, jump, dash, slash, and dash.

Butterfly-Step
A fundamental of sword fighting.

To Butterfly-Step, Jump, Dash, Slash, and Block right after the slash.

The Slash-Shot
Yeah, now you’ll learn how to do the famed slash-shot =]

To Slash-Shot, Jump, Dash, Slash(HOLD), Change to a Gun, Gun will shoot.

Advanced K-Style

Now onto the advanced moves, these are what makes a K-Styler so good =]

Half-Step
Once you get this move down, chances are you wont use the Slash-Shot anymore.

To Half-Step: Jump, Dash, Slash(HOLD), Change, Dash(RIGHT AFTER CHANGE), Gun will shoot.

Eighth-Step
Apparently this is not the half-half, but it sure works hella better.

Another Variation of Half-Step, with 3 Dashes.

To Half-Half Step: Jump, Dash, Slash(HOLD), Change, Dash(RIGHT AFTER CHANGE), Jump, Dash, Gun will shoot.

Flash-Step
A Move that lets you slash twice in one jump. This is a very versatile move.

To Flash-Step: Jump, Slash, Change to gun, Change to melee, Slash

You can switch up this move by throwing in dashes and the such.

Unblockable Massive
An unblockable massive strike. Simply turn around 180* when you encounter a blocker with a massive strike. They will get hurt by the massive, but they will still be in block mode, so you must aim the feet.

“Instant-Kill”
The “Instant-Kill” is a move that uses the alternate swing of the sword to do. What you do is knock the enemy in the air, then aim at the apex of the knock, and fire. You can either then take this move separate ways:

Butterfly near landing point -> Knock Shoot near landing point -> Knock Knock and repeat.

Wall-Post
The Wall-Post is a move that I started to use. Basically a Wall-Post is a Half-Step off of a wall instead of the ground.

To Wall-Post: Jump, Dash at wall, Slash(HOLD), Jump, Change, Dash away from wall, Fire

Air-Reload
This can only be done in certain points of maps. It’s basically sustaining yourself in the air while you reload, so you can keep yourself safe and/or get away at the same time, while reloading your gun.

Quickmedding
Quickmedding is a basic skill that allows you to drop meds twice as fast.

YOU MUST HAVE 2 SETS OF MEDS EQUIPPED FOR THIS TO WORK.

To Quickmed, keep running at a wall, take out the first set of meds, and drop it (HOLD DROP). Change to second set of meds, it will drop, then change back to first set, it will drop, then change to second set. Do this for how long you need to.

Slashmedding
A rarely-used move, but sometimes helpful. It’s just like a slashshot, but with a MedKit/RepairKit in the hand. In this move, you hold Fire till you hit the ground, at which the medkit will drop. After this, you should light step over the medkit to ensure you picking the medkit up. Remember that the medkit will drop in the direction you are moving, so make sure to plan your pickup in the way the medkit is going to move to.

Equipment for K-Stylers

So, wondering about what equipment you should be carrying? There are many good combinations for K-Stylers, here are some below. I’m rating the combinations from 1 Star (*) up to 5 stars (*****) as I see it in my opinion.

Shotgun - Shotgun : The most common combination seen, and arguably the easiest to use, and most powerful. Shotguns do good damages at medium range, but when it comes to long-range fighting, you’ll have to get closer to deal some damage. (*****)

Shotgun - Revolver : Another good combination. This gives you the ability to do damage at both long ranges and short ranges. (*****)

Revolver - Revolver : A tougher combination to use, since at closer ranges you will lose the ability for a spread hit and non-concentrated damage. Also, revolvers tend to be pretty accurate, and lag may become an issue on your accuracy. (***)

Shotgun - Rocket : Another good combination, although the rocket will not work at long ranges. (****)

Revolver - Rocket : Good damages at long range and short, although I’d prefer a shotty over a rocket anyday. (****)

Rocket - Rocket : A tough combination to use, but if used correctly can be very formidable. You lose any hope of damaging at long ranges, so any Rifle/Revolver users out there will tear Rocket/Rocket users up. (**)

Rifle - Shotgun : You now only have one “SS”-able weapon now, so you’ll be going hybrid now. This is a very unexpected combo as most players don’t expect a SG user to whip out a rifle at any given point. (****)

Rifle - Revolver : Meh. Another long-ranged base set, I’d prefer going Revolver/Revolver for the concentrated damages. (**)

Controls

Many newer and older K-Stylers are still trying to get in a comfortable stance on the keyboard to play K-Style. There is a right stance for every person, and it takes some time to get used to newer stances. There are 2 Basic Stances, If anyone has some that they would like me to add, please reply.

Default Stance
Using the games default controls. I use this, I’ve never had any problems. Many people say that reaching 1 2 and 3 is too hard for them, although I have to problems getting to them. Pinky on Shift, Thumb on Space, Ring for W A S 1, Middle for W S D 1 2 3, Pointer for W A S D 2 3 4 5. Fingers in this stance will change roles on certain keys a lot, Example: During a Flash step my middle and ring go up to 2 and 1 respectively, while my pointer dashes on WASD. Here’s an image guide:

Gunz Default Stance

QEF Stance
Changing 1,2 and 3 to Q, E, and F respectively. People with smaller hands will like this better than the Default Stance. This makes 4 and 5 hard to access, and makes slashmedding virtually useless.

Gunz QEF Stance

After word

Yeah, you can now half-half and flash step combo like no other. But can you put all of the hard work and training to use in a real fight? Don’t worry, many people have trouble at this step too. I hear that it’s 10 times harder to use these moves effectively in-game. Why? I personally never experienced this myself, so I can’t really say. All I can say though, is that there is a time to use every move, and a possible varied use for each move. Half-Half-Step can be used to reload; It can keep momentum up for the time you are reloading, an example of using this would be to give you enough momentum to bunny-hop into an alley for cover, while reloading. K-Style moves are not for just attacking, they can be used defensively too. To truly master this style, you must learn to transform the moves to your own preference.

DotA All-stars 6.60 New items Mini Guide

New Basic Item
Ghost Scepter

Ghost Scepter Ghost Form makes you unable to

attack or be attacked, but you take 44% extra damage from spells. For 1500 price, i think Ghost Scepter is very situational. While you can evade enemy

attack
, the 44% extra damage from spell can be deadly. But still, it has its use.

If you’re facing Troll, Rikimaru or another DPS hero, this item comes handy. What? Rikimaru has just smoke you when you have a little HP? Don’t panic, just activate Ghost Scepter while waiting your friend helps or just simply teleport to safe place. Well, if Rikimaru has Dagon maybe you still die though, but it’s very unlikely ;p

Quelling Blade
Quelling BladeThis item definitely a must for a jungling melee hero. The 36% bonus damage to creeps for a damn cheap price of 225 is really neat. Too bad it’s only gives 12% bonus to range heroes. The chop tree ability also handy and can make you jungling faster.

Talisman of Evasion
Talisman of EvasionTalisman of Evasion is really a great relieve. Before, you must farm Butterfly to get 30% evasion (6000, which is very expensive). But now, with just 1800 you can have 25% evasion. This items is a great choice for your tank as it can reduce damage from physical attack.

New Recipes
Poor Man’s Shield
Poor Man's ShieldWell, the name said it all. This items is very cheap. It 100% blocks 20 hero damage and 60% chance blocks 20 non-hero damage (half for ranged). To get this item with ease on early game, buy 2 Slipper of Agility from base. And after several creep kills buy the stout shield on the side shop to finish this item.

Force Staff
Force StaffThe most interesting items on

Dota 6.60 in my opinions. This item is like Kellen’s Dagger, it gives you ability to move 500 range on instant. It’s really usefull on chasing and escaping. It also gives 10 int, 10 damage and 10

attack
speed which pretty neat for 2200 gold. Although many people say that it will work great with Rupture, the fact is, it’s not work. When the
raptured enemies forced to move, it didn’t give damages. Please note that Force do not cancel Town Portal or another channeling spells.

Khadgar’s Pipe of insight
Khadgar's Pipe of InsightA counter of AOE spell

attack. This item can cast Barrier, which gives you and nearby allies 400 spell damage protection for 8 seconds. Multiple cast will override the previous cast. Great, now we can upgrade Hood of Defiance into another item ;)

Magic Wand
Magic WandMagic Stick’s upgrade. Gives you additional 5 charges and 3 attributes. Not much to say here.
